This year I have seen a lot of DIY vintage inspired weddings with couples stretching their budgets and going for a relaxed vibe with long tables, family sharing platters and a lot of bake off style cake tables in place of traditional desserts.
I'm predicting a little more glamour and sparkle for 2014 with sequins, chandeliers, big floral displays and candle light leading the trends. Here's what I think will be big in 2014....
Back to the Ballroom
It seems a lot of high end weddings are taking place in grand ballrooms in luxurious hotels or stately homes bringing back the traditional venue in place of this years rustic barn wedding. Ballrooms are being fully draped and beautifully lit to create a bespoke space for couples.

Large Centrepieces
If you have a big space to fill, then this trend will suit if perfectly. Large candelabras, blossom trees, balls of roses, anything goes as long as its high and mighty. This look calls for a big flower budget but its so striking you don't need to do much else to the room other than maybe adding some tea lights or small groups of flowers at the base.

Chandeliers
Nothing epitomises glamour and luxury better than a huge chandelier. Hang them outdoors from trees or from the roof of your marquee. They can be added to any space to give the high luxe feel that's huge in the US right now.

Tables That Wow!
Most British weddings usually feature round tables with white linen but I predict that US trends will rub off more with sequinned cloths, textured and coloured linens becoming easier to hire. You can now hire gorgeous sequinned linens from Pudding Bridge and The Little Wedding Helper. Find out more here
I also think oval and square tables will give a different feel to the long tables so popular in 2013. Mirrored or glass topped tables have also featured heavily in the luxury wedding market.
Candle Light
Candle Light
Do you remember when floating candles first appeared? I bet you had some floating somewhere in a bowl in the 90s? Well guess what, they're back and bang on trend just as long as you put them in a cylinder vase.

Globe tea light holders are also huge right now seen hanging from trees and flowering branch centrepieces. Candelabras, lanterns and tea lights will also be twinkling away at a wedding near you.
So what will be featuring in your wedding next year. I'd love to hear so please leave a comment.
