A Pretty Lace Candy Buffet

Sorry it's been a bit quiet on here. Busy wedding season is well under way meaning more time spent working on weddings rather than blogging about them. Whilst I have been busy the blog has reached over 100,000 page views which is fantastic news. Thanks to everyone who has read and supported the blog since it started.

I just wanted to share a gorgeous candy buffet I did in Romsey, Southampton this weekend. I was working alongside The Little Wedding Helper who styled the cocktail marquee for Nirisha and Suchin's Asian Wedding. It's the biggest wedding I have ever been involved with with over 470 guests. Nirisha wanted a very vintage feel with lots of pretty lace, soft pastels and vintage props.

Here's a few pictures from the candy buffet. The stunning flowers are by Emma Norton and the shabby chic bureau can be hired as a dessert table, sweet table or cake table.

If you'd like something similar for your wedding, please do or visit my website for more information.

Bristol's Best Sweet Tables

If you are looking for a sweet table or candy buffet for your wedding, then please take a look at  Sweet & Pretty Weddings and Candy Buffets. I run Sweet & Pretty alongside this blog and love to create gorgeously delicious candy buffets for my customers as well as wedding favours, table centrepieces and wedding planning.

Sweet & Pretty can offer a fully bespoke candy buffet design service to match your theme complete with a bespoke backdrop, table linen and a large selection of props, jars, vintage tins and even vintage weighing scales.

As well as a bespoke service, I also offer some a range of gorgeous candy buffets such as Vintage Tea Party or Vintage Glamour starting from £2.50 per head or you can gire your very own Vintage Sweet Shop.

These candy buffets have a distinctive pretty vintage style, but you still have the freedom to personalise your sweet table by selecting the sweets and props of your choice and choosing colours to match your wedding theme. Each candy buffet also has a personalised framed message from the bride and groom inviting the guests to tuck in!

I have recently been nominated in the 2013 Wedding Industry Expert Awards in the Best Sweet Table in Bristol category and I would love your vote if you like my work. You can easily vote here by simply clicking below and then pressing the green vote now button. It only takes a few seconds.

Thank you for your support and if you would like a scrummy candy buffet for your Bristol wedding, then take a look at my website here to see more images plus many testimonials from happy customers

Sweet & Pretty Weddings

Happy Valentines Day everyone. Today is a personal post on a day of love and a day of happiness for me as I am officially relaunching my business following taking some time out to be a mummy to my new baby and my gorgeous toddler. While I have been away from the wedding industry for a bit it gave me time to think about what I have learnt over the past couple of years about what brides want on their special day and how I can appeal more to the Bristol wedding market.

There are a lot of couples locally who are looking for a certain feel for their wedding. They want it to be beautiful, fun, individual and to reflect who they are as individuals. They like vintage and whimsical inspired weddings with lots of gorgeous touches that their guests will adore. In essence they are looking for gorgeous products that will make their wedding sweeter and prettier and hence Sweet & Pretty was born.

The new website is unashamedly pink and polka dotty pretty and showcases the things I have brought with my from the two businesses I have merged together. I got into candy buffets as a bit of a whim because I loved them myself and they really took off under Bristol Candy Buffet. Now Sweet & Pretty takes them to a new level with much more design led and styled candy buffets with a large range of backdrops, props and printables.

I have added a range of personalised favours to appeal to those seeking a DIY feel but lacking the time or energy to make their own. I have also added some sweet apothecary jars and birdcages that can be hired and one clever bride has already found these online and ordered the birdcages for her August wedding before I've even launched them officially.

I have really enjoyed helping couples to plan their weddings at How 2 I Do Wedding & Event Planning so I am still offering Full and Partial Wedding Planning, On the Day Wedding Coordination and Venue Styling. If you are looking for a wedding planner covering Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucestershire, please to book a free consultation.

My favourite new thing has to be the vintage sweet shop that you can hire for your wedding. How would you like a vintage sweet shop at your wedding just for you and your guests with 20 jars filled with the nations favourite sweets like cola bottles, chocolate limes, fruit salads, bon bons, pineapple cubes and many more. The sweet shop is light and very flexible so it works with any venue. It also has vintage weighing scales to give your guests "a quarter of" their favourite treat, a smiling assistant to serve and lots of vintage props to choose from.

I will be bringing the vintage sweet shop, some favours and some birdcages to the Chipping Sodbury Wedding Fair on the 24th February and will also be exhibiting at the Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair at Clifton pavillion on the 10th March so please come and say hello or take a look at my website.

Goldbrick House Open Day

On Sunday Goldbrick House opened its doors for a fabulous wedding open day to allow engaged couples to view the ceremony and reception rooms as they could look for their own big day. The rooms were styled by The Little Wedding Helper using stunning pink and green floral displays by Flowers By Thea.

Acoustic Musician Matt Bee created a relaxed ambiance while couples milled around viewing the range of rooms from the restaurant, which was set up for a reception, to the stylish champagne bar and loft, which was set up as a ceremony space, with access to the outdoor terrace ideal for summer weddings.

A selection of top local wedding suppliers were on hand to give prospective brides and grooms even more inspiration from sweets and lollipop favours from Bristol Candy Buffet (below) to vintage china hire from Bristol Vintage as shown above. There were also free wedding planning tips and advice from How 2 I Do Wedding & Event Planning.

For those with a sweet tooth there was lots to behold from Vintage Candy Buffets to stunning cakes by Chocolate Delores and The Custom Cake Shop.

A Sweet Christmas

Christmas is all about treating yourself and when I came across this tree on Pinterest I had to share it. It's the sort of tree you might find in the Willy Wonka factory at Christmas.

Pinned Image

Christmas is also a great time for a Candy Buffet, whether for paries or Weddings. Here's some Christmas Candy Buffet and dessert table ideas. The gorgeous one below is from Frog Prince Paperie. If you get chance click the link to see the whole post as it's full of festive cheer.

                  Pinned Image

To create a magical Christmas look you need to include ginger bread men, candy canes and swirly lollies. Gingerbread houses are really magical too and add to the festive cheer. The final one from Hostess Blog shows you don't need to stick to the traditional Christmas colours to look festive.

Bridezillas Boutique Grand Opening

The gorgeous Bridezillas Bridal Accessory Boutique opened it's doors on Tuesday on Keynsham High Street and last night many of Bristol's top Wedding suppliers helped Bridezillas owner Amanda celebrate.

Bridezillas stocks everything a Bride to be could want and need for her perfect big day from tiaras and jewellery to sparkly shoes, veils and umbrellas. The shop displays and windows had been beautifully arranged and styled by venue stylist, the Little Wedding Helper to really show off the sparkly pieces. There's even a shabby chic dressing table transformed by Creative Chic where brides can sit and try things on.

Guests were treated to some yummy sweeties in pretty glass and crystal jars from Bristol Candy Buffet as well as cupcakes by Cupcake Cabaret including a delicious cherry cola flavour.

Amanda said "We aim to offer you a top class & friendly service that you cannot get when shopping online. Being able to touch, see and try on your accessory is vital when wanting everything to be perfect for your special day."

Bridezillas can be found on Keynsham High Street and is already expecting a busy first Saturday with lots of Brides visiting to choose their perfect accessories. You can also buy accessories online and find out more about the shop here.
