Venue Spotlight: Byzantium

If you are having a Wedding on a reasonably tight budget, you won't want to spend a fortune on hiring a venue. Byzantium could be the perfect solution for you as it has no venue hire charge, just an agreed minimum spend if you want exclusive use. If you haven't eaten at Byzantium before then you're in for a treat when you enter the Moroccan inspired lounge area downstairs that makes the perfect space for a Wedding reception.

They are licenced for civil ceremonies and charge £300-£400 to marry there. The restaurant can hold up to 120 guests for a sit down meal. There is a great choice of food as you would expect with any restaurant from buffets to set menus and their famous lanterns offering six mini starters or desserts.

Real Bristol Wedding at Leigh Court

We are delighted that Bristol Wedding Photographer Howard from Howard Keith Photography decided to share this gorgeous Wedding with us. It is the Wedding of Tanu Bhat and Steve Clareboets, from Bristol. The couple got married in India in early June, with a ceremony that stretched over several days and included well over 300 hundred guests.

The English side of the wedding took place only a few days later at Leigh Court on Saturday 18th June. There were more than 120 guests that included four bridesmaids, Nicki, Sanji, Roohika and Sita. The weather was a typical British summer's day mixture of sunshine and showers.

Our favourite shot has to be these stunning portraits of Tanu and we think you'll agree that she makes an absolutely beautiful Bride. Our warmest congratulations to Tanu and Steve and thank you to Howard Keith Photography for sharing their special day.

If you are a Bristol Bride or photographer, please submit your Weddings to us to share. We will include any stylish Weddings that match the look and feel of the blog. Email them to .

Do you Dream of an Outdoor Wedding?

In the UK you can only get married in licenced fixed structure with a roof, which limits your choices if you have always dreamt of getting married outdoors. The Any Campaign are working on encouraging a relaxation of these laws which would allow people to marry outside and after 6pm, which is the latest time you can currently be legally married. You can support this campaign here www.theanycampaign.co.uk/ by signing the petition.

In the meantime what options do you have in Bristol? You can currently get married in a place of worship, the Register Office in Corn Street or Yate or a Registrar can also come to a licenced venue to legally Marry you. There are some options for an outdoor ceremony such as a licenced Pagoda or Gazebo. Matara offers an outdoor style wedding shown below www.matara.co.uk/weddings

However there is also the option of making your marriage legal in a quickie Register Office Ceremony and then using a Celebrant to have a ceremony whenever or wherever you like in the presence of all your loved ones. Although this seems like an unfamiliar concept it actually opens up loads of great possibilities.

Tailor Made Ceremonies offer you the option to marry on the beach, in a field, under the stars, in a forest or pretty much anywhere else you can imagine. Jennifer can also help you to personalise the Ceremony as you are not restricted as you would be in a Civil or Religious Ceremony.
