Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair

Clifton Pavilion was alive with chatter and laughter on Sunday as many couples visited the Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair. The early spring sunshine added to the warm and friendly atmosphere inside, as did the smooth sounds of the sublime trio the Tender Trap who performed upstairs.

Models sauntered around the stalls in stunning lace and satin vintage wedding gowns while enthusiastic brides has their hair transformed into vintage styles. There were many different vintage stands to choose from such as stunning wedding jewellery from Bridezillas (below) to delicious cake from Chocolate Delores (shown above).

Organisers Bristol Vintage had a pretty display of china and glassware available for hire and local designer Rachel Goodchild (shown below) was showcasing her vintage wrapping paper, stationery and wedding blogs. Fun knicker making parties for vintage hens were also showcased from Flo-Jo Boutique as seen below.

Award winning local wedding stylist the Little Wedding Helper had brought a vintage bureau, heaving with gorgeous props that she can use to transform your wedding venue. Next to her Fishee Designs Photo Booth who are mobile photo studio, who can provide fabulous vintage props for your guests to pose with.

There were so many fantastic suppliers it's impossible to list them all here, so see our previous post for a full list of those vintage suppliers who attended.

Chocolate Shoes from Chocolate Delores

If you are looking for a Christmas gift for a special lady who loves both chocolate and shoes (who doesn't right ladies), then you can't go too wrong with a gorgeous shoe from Chocolate Delores.

Lizzie, Owner of Chocolate Delores makes the most delicious Wedding and special occasion cakes that I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The cakes are soaked in port and layered in butter cream and plum jam which makes them moist and quite frankly scrumptious.

She makes everything to order including the shoes, which are "bespoke and unique". She also hand makes yummy chocolates that would make fabulous favours or gifts. You can contact Chocolate Delores here

Let Them Eat Cake

I met Lizzie from Chocolate Delores recently and was lucky enough to try one of her fabulous cakes and I can honestly report that it was the best Wedding cake I have ever had the pleasure to sample. After this I could not resist scrolling through the pages of her website to see the most delicious looking Wedding cakes all wrapped in chocolate and beautifully adorned. They really are a work of art and it's worth browsing the gallery, but be warned you will end up with a serious cake craving.

Here's a sample of some of the cakes, just to whet your appetite. This two tier cake is decorated with white chocolate folds, fresh cream roses and sugar hearts.

Chocolate Delores cakes are handmade to order using Fairtrade, Organic and locally sourced ingredients and are described by their maker Lizzie as "fun, funky, very luxurious, and extremely delicious".

And how about his one for something a bit different. Chocolate and leopard print with hand made chocolate roses. Lizzie we salute you and I hope to be invited to a Wedding with one of your beautiful cakes soon, so I can have a huge slice.

The Little Wedding Helper's Launch Party

The lovely Kirsten Butler, aka the Little Wedding Helper held a brilliant launch evening at the Riverstation on Wednesday and the Bristol Wedding Industry were out in force to support her.

The Little Wedding Helper is a Bristol based Wedding styling service and Kirsten is an expert at inspiring Brides and transforming a blank canvas such as a marquee or village hall into a spectacular venue. We are delighted to be featuring an article on Wedding style from Kirsten on Bristol Wedding News soon. Kirsten had beautifully decorated the Riverstation with gorgeous touches, such as vintage suitcases, pretty pastel bunting and stunning pink flowers supplied by Emma Norton Wedding Flowers.

There was a fantastic ambiance created by "Grammaphone DJs" Shellac Sound who offer a really original service by playing a selection of  music from the 20s, 20s and 40s on original 78s. This would be perfect for a vintage themed wedding and would make excellent background music during drinks or dinner.

Guests at the launch were spoilt for choice with delicious food with canapes provided by the Riverstation including to die for Pork Belly as well as pretty cupcakes with sparkly icing from Cheeky Cupcakes and absolutely delicious cakes and truffles from Chocolate Delores, who we will be featuring in full next week.

Bristol Wedding Photographer Martin Pemberton was also on hand with his camera and set up a fantastic photo booth with a range of great props from tiaras to feather boas, hats and blackboards to write little messages on. This was in huge demand all night and would be a great fun entertainment idea for any Wedding.

If you are getting married and need some help with a theme or styling your venues, then we wholeheartedly recommend giving Kirsten a call. She even promises hot chocolate for her consultations and you can't say better than that. Well done Kirsten and the Riverstation for a fantastic evening.
